Systems Integration and Data Connector Configuration

Integrate Your Enterprise License Optimization Solution with Your Existing Data Sources

Your enterprise has its own unique software asset management processes that may involve a variety of data from multiple sources including spreadsheets, databases, financial, procurement, and proprietary systems. Our Global Consulting Services team can develop specialized "connectors" that import purchases, contracts, third-party inventory, corporate structure, and user information from your existing systems into our FlexNet Manager Suite database.

Successful software compliance management requires that you can link the electronic inventory of your software assets with business records of your legal software entitlements to those installations. This linking process cannot be sidestepped; it is the essence of software compliance validation.

Connectors are tools for data integration that provide a mapping of source (procurement) data, to target (FlexNet Manager Suite) data. This mapping allows FlexNet Manager Suite to reconcile installed software against purchased software licenses.

Connectors can import diverse types of data such as:

  • Inventory data from third-party data sources
  • Software asset/purchase spreadsheets from VARS (Insight, ASAP, SHI, and so on)
  • Software purchase information from the procurement system
  • Hardware asset/purchase spreadsheets from hardware vendors
  • Enterprise groups or corporate business unit information from spreadsheets, Active Directory, or the HR system
  • User data from the HR system.

Each connector provides a template for the ongoing data load from its designated source.

Flexera Software consultants will:

  • Analyze existing purchasing and contract data
  • Map the collected data to tables and fields in the FlexNet Manager Suite database
  • Build and test XML files that embody the resulting mapping to enable reusability
  • Develop procedures for validating and cleansing imported data
  • Provide an ongoing process for regularly importing data

The service includes testing and an initial data load from each connector.
